The course focuses on ideas that changed the world and how some things that we take for granted in the modern world were only ideas to begin with. Ideas about beauty, communication, humour and food are analysed. Why are some ideas accepted as normal in some parts of the world, but thought to be absurd in other places?
The environment has a huge impact on how we sense the world and live our daily lives, who we befriend and how we talk about each other.
The course involves a dialogue between students on their own lives, interests and pop-culture in order to analyse where the ideas come from.
